EATING OUT
There are plenty of lovely places to eat and drink in the surrounding villages and in nearby Emsworth.

In Chidham, the Old House at Home is a characterful country pub serving traditional British dishes, real ales, and seasonal favourites in a cosy setting. Just along the road, The Travellers Joy offers relaxed pub dining with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Emsworth has a fantastic selection of pubs and restaurants clustered around the harbour. The Sussex Arms and The Crown are both popular for classic pub food, while The Deck is ideal for waterside drinks and light bites with harbour views. Fat Olives offers an intimate bistro-style experience, JJ’s is great for Mediterranean tapas, and Darbar serves a wide range of Indian dishes. There are many more independent spots to discover within easy walking distance.

For cafés, The Huts in Prinsted is a seasonal waterfront favourite, Mamawu in Nutbourne has a great breakfast and lunch selection, Blooms is a quirky café set in a converted bus, and Driftwood Café is perfect for coffee, breakfast, or homemade cake while exploring Emsworth.

Southbourne Station located on Stein Road: 5-minute walk

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

West Wittering Beach & East Head – A beautiful and popular sandy beach. If visiting in high season, try going in the evening for a barbecue or paddle once the crowds have dispersed. In the off-season, East Head is perfect for a dog walk. Dogs are allowed on East Head all year, but not on the main West Wittering Beach from May to September.

Weald and Downland Living Museum in Singleton is ideal for visitors of all ages. The museum is very dog-friendly and showcases traditional rural life.

Chichester Festival Theatre – A local theatre with an impressive programme of plays and performances.

Chichester City – A beautiful city to explore. The Bishops Garden at the Cathedral is a sunny, peaceful spot, and the city walls walk takes you over the historic walls encircling Chichester.

Hayling Island Billy Trail – A disused railway line running the length of the island, perfect for walking, running, or cycling with plenty of sea views.

South Downs National Park – Offers countless walking and cycling routes. The South Downs Way stretches from Winchester to Eastbourne, ideal for sampling a section of this scenic trail.

Goodwood Estate – Famous for the Festival of Speed, Revival, and Glorious Goodwood, the estate also hosts a flight school, farm, and regular events.

Guests will have access to the entire cottage. There is one parking space, along with additional parking on the street if needed. The property is located in a lively residential area – you may occasionally hear some neighbourhood activity, especially during the summer months.
