Welcome to Pier House, a truly special addition to the Pass the Keys portfolio. This beautiful, one-of-a-kind property has a fascinating history and is now open for guests to experience for themselves. Your stay is part of something bigger, as proceeds go towards a charitable cause dedicated to maintaining and preserving Garth Pier for future generations. Standing proudly since 1896, it is the longest pier in Wales and one of the longest in England and Wales, holding a special place in the hearts of the local community.
From the moment you arrive, the setting is breathtaking. The property enjoys panoramic views across the Menai Strait, stretching towards Menai Bridge in one direction, and sweeping across Beaumaris, Puffin Island, Great Orme and the Spinnies Aberogwen Nature Reserve in the other. With uninterrupted 360-degree scenery, the views here are nothing short of extraordinary.
Step inside and you’re welcomed into a thoughtfully restored space, lovingly renovated by dedicated pier volunteers to an exceptional standard. The interiors feel fresh, bright and inviting throughout. Just off the hallway, the first bedroom offers a calm and airy retreat, complete with a comfortable double bed, wooden flooring and practical storage.
Continuing through the property, you’ll find a spacious, beautifully finished bathroom featuring both a bath and a walk-in shower, designed with a clean, modern feel. A separate utility area with a washing machine adds everyday convenience.
The heart of the home is the generous open-plan kitchen and dining area, a warm and welcoming space perfect for cooking, dining and spending time together. Fully equipped with everything you need, it also offers some of the finest views in the house. From here, you can look out over the pier and the Menai Strait, while the dining table is perfectly positioned to take in sweeping coastal views stretching across the sea.
Towards the rear of the property, a cosy reading nook provides a quiet spot to relax, with comfortable seating and a small desk area by the window.
The main living room is bright, stylish and inviting, featuring a large, luxurious sofa, a widescreen TV and carefully chosen artwork. Large French doors open out onto a stunning outdoor space, where you can step outside, feel the sea breeze and fully take in the natural beauty that surrounds you. It’s a place to slow down, unwind and truly appreciate the unique coastal setting of North Wales.
Upstairs, you’ll find two additional bedrooms designed for comfort and relaxation. The first is a charming twin room featuring two single beds, where you can wake up to beautiful scenic views that make the space feel bright and inviting. Further along the landing, there is a spacious king-size bedroom, thoughtfully styled with tasteful décor and offering plenty of storage for a comfortable stay. At the top of the stairs, there is also a convenient toilet, making this floor both practical and well-appointed.
Bangor, North Wales, is a charming coastal city that perfectly blends scenic beauty with a relaxed seaside atmosphere. One of its highlights is the iconic Bangor Pier, where you can enjoy peaceful walks, stunning views across the Menai Strait, and a selection of small independent shops and eateries right along the pier itself.
Just a short stroll from the property, you’ll find the beautiful Victorian pier lined with quaint kiosks and local businesses. Halfway along, you can stop at Whistlestop on the Pier, a much-loved café serving fresh, homemade food and warm drinks, perfect for enjoying while taking in the breath-taking coastal views. At the end of the pier, the pavilion tea rooms offer a relaxed spot for light bites and refreshments, while nearby kiosks include a traditional sweet shop and gift stalls selling locally made crafts and Welsh produce.
Close to the pier, you’ll also find a great selection of restaurants and places to eat. Torna a Surriento is a popular Italian restaurant right on the promenade, ideal for a relaxed evening meal, while Tafarn Y Garth offers a friendly pub atmosphere with food and drinks just a short walk away. For something a little different, Nomi Rooms & Restaurant provides modern Indian cuisine in a stylish setting.
Heading into Bangor town centre, you’ll find a mix of high street shops, independent stores, and convenient retail options. Deiniol Shopping Centre is the main shopping hub, offering a variety of fashion, gifts, and everyday essentials all in one place. Along the High Street, there are also local favourites such as BWYD DA Bangor Limited for casual dining and Dinos Bangor for relaxed American-style food.
For larger shopping trips, nearby retail parks such as Bangor Retail Park and St David’s Retail Park offer a wider range of well-known stores, supermarkets, and essentials, all just a short drive away.
Overall, Bangor offers a lovely mix of seaside charm, local eateries, and convenient shopping, making it a great base for both relaxing getaways and exploring the beauty of North Wales.
