A huge choice for dining on Bath Road from Pubs, Indian, Chinese, Fish and Chips, kebabs and Cheltenham’s iconic Morans Restaurant at the top of Victoria Retreat! Well worth a visit.
Excellent coffee shops nearby and in the Suffolks area, Baker and Graze is a particular favourite on Suffolk Parade with a delightful hidden courtyard at the back. In the Bath Road Brew and Bake makes lovely coffee.
Lots of great pubs to explore in the area too, all within 5-10 minutes walk. Hidden away gems are the Jolly Brewmaster on Painswick Rd which has a good beer garden and the Beehive on Montpellier villas – a very old, atmospheric pub. For those that prefer cocktails, stroll through the Suffolks and across the park to Montpellier which has a fine assortment of bars, some specialising in cocktails. Lots more restaurants to choose from in this area too.

On Sunday once a month the Suffolk Street Markets are held and the roads are closed off – a lovely Sunday activity with live music and great stalls, 2 minutes from the house.
This is a great area for those that enjoy walking. Leckhampton Hill is a good walk or short drive from here – beautiful views over the town and surrounding Cotswolds. Within town there is a great walk opposite the train station through an old railway track, it eventually brings you out at Pittville where there’s a lovely park with a lake and the iconic Pittville Pump Room, perhaps Cheltenham’s grandest venue to take the waters. Walk back through the town. It’s also possible to walk along by the River Chelt towards Charlton Kings and come back through the Naunton Park area.
Cheltenham hosts many concerts and festivals throughout the year and the Everyman Theatre in the town centre is a beautiful traditional Victorian venue.
