Perfectly situated on the banks of the lake at the award winning Westlands Country Park, the lodge is simply the best place to relax and unwind from the stresses of every day life.
Try your hand at the on site clay pigeon shooting or fishing enthusiasts can fish directly from our large private wraparound decking area or explore over 100 acres of woodland, there’s something for everyone!
The space
Arrive at the lodge and you will immediately appreciate why it holds one of the most enviable positions within the park, located directly on the banks of the lake you will instantly begin to unwind as you take in the fantastic views across the lake itself to the countryside beyond.
Enter the lodge itself to be greeted by a spacious open plan sitting, dining and kitchen area, light, bright and pristinely decorated the space is welcoming and cosy.
The sitting area has a large comfortable corner sofa & armchair and stunning electric feature fire which is perfect for a cosy evening in the cooler months.
Enjoy a relaxing evening in front of the smart TV after a fun packed day exploring all our beautiful region of Dumfries & Galloway has to offer, or, have fun with family games night with the board games provided for your use.
The dining area seats 4 comfortably and is the perfect space to enjoy a light lunch or evening meal.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for meal preparation, the open plan layout means you won’t miss out on all the fun when in the kitchen!
The entire space is flooded with light from the double French doors that open out to the large wraparound decking area. With the outdoor furniture, this is simply the most perfect spot to enjoy an early morning coffee or evening glass of wine whilst enjoying the lake view and all the antics of the wild geese, ducks and local wildlife. The hot tub is the cherry on top, soak away the day’s activities with those all important stunning views.
The master bedroom has a super comfortable king size bed, plenty of wardrobe space and boasts its own en-suite shower room with walk-in shower, vanity unit and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 2 has twin beds with good storage space and uniquely, also has it’s very own en-suite shower room, again with good size walk in shower, vanity unit and heated towel rail.
For fishing enthusiasts, two of the three ponds are stocked with only the best local rainbow, blue and tiger trout up to 12lb in weight for fly fishing. Fishing is available either on catch and release basis or you can opt to keep a few to cook at home. Guests who are experienced shooters or those who would love to ‘give it a go’ will be thrilled with the onsite facilities on offer, the premier shooting ground comprises of up to 100 Promatic super sporter traps, throwing a large selection of targets.
The layouts include Scotland’s highest high tower with four simulation traps, down the line (DTL), Skeet layout, Compak, driven flush and twenty other sporting stands including a Rabbit pair.
All abilities are welcome, a dedicated team of instructors are trained to the highest standards are amongst the most experienced in the country. Instruction is offered for novice through to experienced game and clay shooters. Dumfries & Galloway is renowned for it’s cycling and hiking facilities and there are multiple sites both within the direct area and further afield.
We are delighted to welcome furry friends, a maximum of 2 (well behaved dogs) at an additional small charge of £30 to cover extra cleaning, however, please note, pets of a nervous disposition would not do well due to the noise of shooting in the distance, although not too loud it can still be heard on occasion and may upset some pets.

IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.
The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.
Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.

I’m a born and bred ‘Doonhamer’ and have a lifelong passion for not only Scotland as a whole, but for my beautiful home region of Dumfries & Galloway. I have travelled the world, working at the very top end of customer service providing travel assistance to the world’s Royal families, diplomats, ministers and celebrities. I then joined the ‘luxury travel market’ project, managing private travel arrangements for both individual VIPs and multinational companies. The next natural step for me was to break into the short term let market, the experience and professionalism that Pass The Keys has to offer made it an easy and obvious choice to become a PTK franchisee.
