About this listing

About this space
This charming basement apartment is situated just outside the city centre in the neighbourhood of Newbridge. Beautiful central Bath, with its shopping areas, cultural attractions and fabulous restaurants and bars is a 10 min drive away, or you could walk it within half an hour. You’ll find plenty of local shops and cafes a short walk away on the fashionable Chelsea rd. This apartment provides the perfect crash pad during your city break or if travelling to Bath on business.

The space
Access to the apartment is to the side of the main house, and down the stairs, where it has a private front door.
The interior is bright and modern. It has a compact yet comfortable open plan living area, with kitchen and dining area. The bedroom has a king-size bed and the modern bathroom is with a Bath/Shower.

The property also has the convenience of having an allocated parking space.

Supermarkets
Just up from the property about 150 M is Chelsea Rd with a Spar shop and several cafes and deli shops. Down from the property about 300M is a good sized Tesco Express.

Local Restaurants
A basic old fashioned pub is The New Crown about 150M above the property which is on the corner of Chelsea Rd. Chelsea Rd has a few eateries including Mai Thai which is, I believe, the best Thai restaurant in the area.

Local Attractions
Bath is full of historical attractions and is a short drive away though regular bus services run just outside the door. The Royal Crescent is 15 mins walk away and the city centre is not much further away by foot.

Trains
Bath Spa train station is close to the city centre.

Buses
Regular bus services run to Bristol and Bath from just outside the house

Key Selling Points
Quirky private basement apartment in Victorian villa.

I liked: Clean and tidy with everything you could want for a short stay. Well situated just outside of the town centre with off street parking. Several bus routes run from the road outside into town and there are cafes a deli and Spar round the corner. I did not like: Nothing. Summary: Excellent base for a visit to Bath ... I liked: Lovely location with great access to the city centre. The apartment itself was really nice. The layout was perfect and had a very homely feeling to it. ... Read full reviewClose

I liked: The property was lovely and in an excellent location. The owner who lived above was very friendly and even let us use his garage for our Ebikes. I did not like: The check-in process was awful and caused me a lot of unacceptable stress. I had to verify my identity using an app to scan my driving licence, but the app didn't work. I had to call a helpline, but this was with the company that managed the booking "pass the keys." It was another company that managed the check-in process. I had to send a screenshot of my passport to "pass the keys." But the check-in company still didn't confirm the check-in verification. I then had to send a selfie of my face, and only a few hours before we were due to arrive was my ID verified. All very unhelpful. ... Read full reviewClose

I liked: Very homely, we really appreciated the extra things, such as a washing machine, clothes airer, and all the utensils. Very friendly host. The space was great, it was lovely to have the room to move around. We appreciated the car parking space. I did not like: Everything was great. Summary: Very comfortable stay. ... I liked: The place was nice and close to the city centre, about 20-30 mins walk or the bus was on the other side of the road into the city as well. I did not like: The waiver that was added after you booked the apartment, not good, advise you add this to the price or advise customers of this before hand. Summary: Nice apartment, good for a city break! ... Read full reviewClose

I liked: Great location and great to have parking thank you, very obliging host. I did not like: I don't like the text messages that are pretending to be a real person (the host), when really it is just a chatbot, it would be better to make it obvious that it is an automated service. Summary: Great thank you ... Read full reviewClose

I liked: It is a lovely, spacious, clean, quiet flat. Property is well equipped. It has a lovely patio and garden. Parking available. I did not like: The property was in perfect condition. Just minor observations as follows. The patio/ garden could do with comfortable chairs or recliners. We were there in very nice weather but the two little patio metal chairs were so uncomfortable. Property is quite clean, but there was some mould in the bathroom by the window. Be aware that if you have dog allergies, the property allows dogs and bits of dog hairs to trigger a reaction, as is the case with myself. ... Read full reviewClose

I liked: The location was good and off street parking was handy. I did not like: Kitchen was poorly equipped. It only had small pots and the non stick layers were damaged, so we did not use them. There were no larger bowls to toss a salad in. The sofa was not very comfortable. ... Read full reviewClose

I liked: It was very homely with nice amenities like tea, coffee and milk. and extremely close to the bus stop for easy travel into the town. I did not like: The bed was a little bit hard but nothing too bad. Summary: Overall it’s a great property and well worth the stay for the homely nature and ease of access to public transport. ... Lovely place. Our stay was only spoilt by the initial barage of texts from 'Pass the Keys'.. Was close to bus stops so easy to get in and out of the centre. Well equipped. Nice walk into Bath via the river too. Good to have off-street parking. Comfy, nice and clean.. Small print (that I missed) states that you need to pay an additional £500 deposit (for breakages etc) or pay a £40 waiver and send them a copy of driver's licence/ passport. Advised to take pics of when you arrive too. Until I decided what to do, I was hassled by 'Pass the Keys'. Made for a very unpleasant run-up to our stay. A few reviews mention the smell... you get used to it quickly. No visible mould so I guess it's just inevitable for a lower-level place. Wifi kept dropping out, not really usable. ... We had a lovely time despite the rain. Bath is beautiful and very friendly. Great pubs.. Location very good. Right by the bus line into town and a 20 minute walk otherwise through Vikki park.. Basement flat. Always smells a bit damp. Bit tired to be honest and the sofa just collapses when you sit on it. Kitchen very limited so we had to eat out a lot. Parking tricky if you have an estate car like mine. Saving grace is the street parking is free and easily accessible. ... Read full reviewClose

Fab place comfy homely and in a quiet area. All amenities are there for anyone who stays.. Only a 5 minutes drive from the centre of Bath Bus stop just over the road if we chose to use public transport. Easy to park in Bath. Used a taxi which was a tenner one way into the centre of Bath. Pillows on the bed need replacing. ... Read full reviewClose

Pleasant apartment in quiet convenient location. Very close to the bus stop, only a 10 minute bus ride from Bath city centre. The neighbourhood is quiet. The apartment was well presented, clean and comfortable. The owner lives upstairs and when he heard we were having trouble locking the door he immediately popped down to assist. Bonus was being greeted each morning and evening by Suki the owners dog. Such a delight. The apartment had a nice kitchen, living area with the bedroom seperate. There was a TV in the living room and bedroom.. The kitchen was lacking a few necessary utensils such as a pair of tongs and a potato peeler, but this really is nitpicking. The bed was not overly comfortable with the mattress tending to dip in the middle and was a tad hard. ... Read full reviewClose

... Read full reviewClose
