About this listing
The Stables is a converted block with a lounge, kitchen, shower room and bedroom as well as plenty of outside space.
It is in the grounds of Allscott House and next to a flat section of The Shropshire Way.
Opposite the property, guests have access to a private and wild space next to the River Tern.
Between Shrewsbury and Telford, the location is ideal for exploring by car and for quiet walks.
Welcome to The Stables, a characterful one-bedroom retreat tucked away in the grounds of Allscott House. Set in a quiet, semi-rural location, this converted stable blends rustic charm with comfort—think exposed oak beams, high ceilings, and an airy open feel in both the lounge and bedroom.
Outside, you’ll find a covered seating area that’s perfect for morning coffee or relaxed evenings with a glass of wine. Guests are also welcome to enjoy a private stretch of the riverbank, as well as explore our beautifully kept garden.
With the Shropshire Way just steps from the door, walkers can enjoy peaceful routes along the River Tern—ideal for those who prefer flatter landscapes and little-used country roads.
The space includes:
A spacious double bedroom:
Incredibly light and airy bedroom with ample storage space. The ceiling is is high and the brick work really brings out the character.
One bathroom:
The bathroom features a large walk in shower, basin and wc. It is a good size and in keeping with the bedroom, is bright.
Fully equipped lounge and dining area:
The lounge has two nicely sized sofas, a TV and a coffee table, making a homely space to relax in. Off to the side of the sofas is a small dining table, where meals can be enjoyed.
Outdoor covered patio:
If you like the outdoors, then this is the place for you!
There is covered area which is ideal for breakfasts or entertaining.
Moreover, we’re just next to the Shropshire Way so if you like walking, you’re ideally placed at the Stables. I would describe the land as flatter than your traditional Shropshire Hills.
